About Jan Salomons

I have become a leadership specialist and executive coach by working more than than 35 years in various international  leadership positions.

38 years ago I finished university as a teacher in electro-engineering, and since then my curiosity for making people and organizations work better took the lead in my personal development, as well for my job choices.

I have had executive jobs in various areas. Industries include IT, Transport, Semi-Conductor, whilst roles include senior positions in HR, L&D, operations, leadership development, change & transformation management, program-project-portfolio management and business development. I had the privilege of being able to work with people from all continents (50+ countries) and traveled the world for many years.

These experiences formed the foundation of my work: a deep, practical understanding of what leaders and organizations need to succeed in high-pressure, politically sensitive, and operationally complex environments.

To bundle this, I founded Salomons.Coach in 2018 and started my independent journey to make this available to leaders and organizations.

My mission didn’t change where my curiosity lead me in 35 years: Helping executives, boards, and leadership teams create visible behavioral change and measurable improvements in performance, culture, and collaboration.

My work is grounded in real-world leadership—no models for the sake of models, no academic abstractions.

In 2024 I was honored to be invited to join the Harvard Business Review (HBR) Advisory Council, where I contribute to shaping future-thinking ideas on business leadership and management. This role recognizes my critical perspective on and contribution to leadership behavior, strategy execution, change and the practical realities leaders face.

My coaching focuses on senior leaders, executives, their teams and those preparing for executive roles.

Through team-coaching I support teams with reenforcing the behavior that realizes results, and create breakthroughs with the behaviors blocking them.

My true passion is to bring this together in a dedicated  transformation program for an organization. Such a program helps the organization achieve their desired results, through changed leadership and teams behavior. It takes the systemic dynamics (culture) of the organization fully into account. It changes behavior and results in a sustainable way.
