Aerodynamic Trucks
A blast from the past. In 2010-2013 I was involved with the TU Delft, Gandert van Raemsdonck who was doing his PhD on this. At the time I was responsible for the business, process and system development in TNT’s European Road Network, I was also have fleet management and environment in my portfolio.
A great group of people from various interest groups were joining forces at the time, being inspired by new technology for electrifying cars and trucks.
The video made for RTL News, a National News Channel in the Netherlands, was the moment of fame for the team.
The aerodynamic features developed included side-wings for trailer, and a number of experiments to especially reduce draft behind the trucks/trailers.
