Je verkent er een.<\/h1>\n\n  <p class=\"sc-deck\">Hoe de Pioneer Map en de Expedition senior leiders helpen bij het navigeren door een bewuste carri\u00e8reverandering, en de theorie achter de methode.<\/p>\n\n  <hr class=\"sc-rule\">\n\n  <p class=\"sc-lead\">Senior leiders worden getraind om onzekerheid weg te nemen. Voorspel het, modelleer het, verklein het risico, sluit het af. Die discipline is precies wat hen senior heeft gemaakt.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Dan komt de carri\u00e8rewisseling, en elk instinct dat ze vertrouwen keert zich tegen hen.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Ze bouwen de business case. Ze benchmarken de markt. Ze wachten op de data om de stap te bevestigen. En de stap komt nooit, omdat de data waar ze op wachten alleen geproduceerd kan worden door de stap te zetten. De leider die een divisie kan herstructureren, bevriest voor hun eigen volgende hoofdstuk.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"sc-pull\">Je kunt je niet in een nieuwe identiteit analyseren. Je moet erheen verkennen.<\/div>\n\n  <p>Ik coach executives en executive teams, en steeds vaker coach ik de carri\u00e8re-switch zelf: de overstap naar een nieuwe sector, een rol als oprichter, een portefeuille van bestuursfuncties, een heruitvinding waar het organigram nooit rekening mee heeft gehouden. Dit werk bevindt zich in de <strong>Hervorm \u2192 Opstaan<\/strong> fase van mijn 4R Model (Reflecteren \u00b7 Resetten \u00b7 Herori\u00ebnteren \u00b7 Opstaan\u2122), en ik laat het door twee gekoppelde oefeningen lopen die worden aangeboden op <strong>Salomons.Coach.App<\/strong>de <strong>Pionierskaart<\/strong> en <strong>De Expeditie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Het ene is ori\u00ebntatie. Het andere is beweging. Een kaart zonder expeditie is een fantasie. Een expeditie zonder kaart is een zwerftocht. Senior carri\u00e8repaden worden gedraaid door beide te bezitten.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>De Pionierskaart: cartografie van het zelf, v\u00f3\u00f3r de markt<\/h2>\n\n  <p>De meeste transitie-adviezen beginnen met de markt, vacatures, sectoren, headhunters. De Pioneer Map begint een stap eerder, met het enige vaste punt dat een leider daadwerkelijk bezit: zichzelf.<\/p>\n\n  <p>De oefening vraagt de directeur om vier dingen in kaart te brengen. Hun <strong>magnetische noorden<\/strong>, de waarden die niet buigen. Hun <strong>bewezen terrein<\/strong>, de reeds verworven en overdraagbare vaardigheden. Hun <strong>no-gozones<\/strong>, de omgevingen en afwegingen waarnaar ze niet opnieuw zullen terugkeren, vaak het meest verhelderende deel. En de <strong>witruimte<\/strong>, het onontgonnen terrein dat hen aantrekt maar nog geen naam kan krijgen.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Een pionier brengt geen gebied in kaart dat hij al heeft doorkruist. Hij markeert wat hij weet, bepaalt zijn koers en trekt een hypothese over wat er voorbij de rand ligt. Dat is de houding die de oefening opbouwt.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"sc-theory\">\n    <h3>De theorie achter de kaart<\/h3>\n    <p>De Pionierskaart is gebaseerd op vier werkgebieden. <strong>Edgar Schein's loopbaanankers<\/strong>, het zelfbeeld van talenten, motieven en waarden die een persoon niet zal opgeven, levert de magnetische noordpool. <strong>De mogelijke zelven van Markus &amp; Nurius<\/strong> omkader de witte ruimte als een reeks toekomsten die je kunt worden, niet als een enkele bestemming die je kunt vinden. <strong>Herminia Ibarra's werkidentiteit<\/strong> herdefinieert identiteit als meervoudig en ontdekt in beweging in plaats van opgegraven door introspectie. En <strong>Mark Savickas\u2019 loopbaanconstructie \/ levensontwerp<\/strong> beschouwt een carri\u00e8re als een verhaal dat de leider schrijft, niet als een ladder die hij beklimt. De kaart is waar dat verhaal zijn co\u00f6rdinaten krijgt.<\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <h2>De expeditie: een kaart is geen reis<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Duidelijkheid is verleidelijk. Veel leiders verwarren een goede kaart met vooruitgang en blijven daar hangen, eindeloos het plan verfijnend, zonder ooit het basiskamp te verlaten. The Expedition bestaat om die betovering te doorbreken.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Het zet de witte ruimtes op de kaart om in een reeks kleine, doelbewuste experimenten: een gesprek, een pilotproject, een fractie van betrokkenheid, een publiek standpunt, een week lang een andere wereld volgen. Elk is ontworpen om te overleven als het mislukt en hoe dan ook informatief te zijn. De leider stopt met vragen \u201cIs dit het juiste pad?\u201d en begint te vragen \u201cWat leert deze volgende stap me?\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"sc-cards\">\n    <div class=\"sc-card\">\n      <h4>De Kaart<\/h4>\n      <p>Ori\u00ebntatie. Waar je staat, wat je draagt, waar je niet heen gaat, en welke richting aantrekt. Reflectie die koers produceert.<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"sc-card\">\n      <h4>De Expeditie<\/h4>\n      <p>Beweging. Kleine, betaalbare experimenten die het onbekende in bewijs veranderen. Actie die een nieuwe identiteit produceert.<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div class=\"sc-theory\">\n    <h3>De theorie achter de expeditie<\/h3>\n    <p>De expeditie leeft in wat <strong>William Bridges<\/strong> de neutrale zone, het desori\u00ebnterende tussenstadium waarin de oude rol is ge\u00ebindigd, maar de nieuwe nog niet is begonnen, waar de meeste veranderingen worden gewonnen of opgegeven. Het loopt op <strong>Ibarra\u2019s proberen en leren<\/strong> logica: gedraag je een nieuwe manier van denken aan door middel van voorlopige zelfbeelden en kleine weddenschappen. <strong>John Krumboltz's geplande toevalligheden<\/strong> zet nieuwsgierigheid, vasthoudendheid, flexibiliteit, optimisme en berekende risico's om in een manier om geluk te cre\u00ebren in plaats van erop te wachten. <strong>Effectuatie van Saras Sarasvathy<\/strong> vertelt de manager dat hij moet beginnen met zijn middelen en binnen een betaalbaar verlies moet handelen, het tegengif voor de alles-of-niets sprong. En <strong>Nancy Schlossberg's 4 S's<\/strong>, Situatie, Zelf, Ondersteuning, Strategie\u00ebn, zijn de uitrusting die ze inpakken voordat ze vertrekken.<\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <h2>Waarom Salomons.Coach.App<\/h2>\n\n  <p>Een carri\u00e8reswitch wordt niet beslist in de coachingruimte. Hij wordt beslist in de weken tussen de sessies, in de tweede gedachten, de stille experimenten, het gesprek dat ergens onverwachts heenging. <strong>Salomons.Coach.App<\/strong> Laat me die ruimte vasthouden. Tot op heden heb ik geleid <strong>twaalf senior leiders door een weloverwogen carri\u00e8rewisselbeslissing. Tien hebben de stap gezet<\/strong>, in nieuwe sectoren, oprichtersventures, portfolio- en bestuursfuncties. Twee kozen ervoor om te blijven, vrijwel zeker om zeer goede redenen.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"sc-stat\">\n    <span class=\"sc-num\">12<\/span>\n    <span class=\"sc-num-label\">senior leiders begeleid bij een beslissing om van carri\u00e8re te wisselen. Tien wisselden. Twee bleven, met opzet, en dat telt ook als resultaat.<\/span>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <p>Het patroon is consistent. Geen van hen verhuisde, of bleef, door harder te plannen. Ze kaartten eerlijk, en voerden vervolgens experimenten uit die klein genoeg waren om te overleven en scherp genoeg om te onderwijzen. Voor tien wezen de experimenten naar buiten. Voor twee bevestigden ze dat de grond waarop ze al stonden de juiste grond was. Een carri\u00e8rewisseling beslis jij <em>vereist<\/em> Om te maken, met heldere ogen, is geen falen van de methode. Het is de methode die werkt.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"sc-pull\">De leiders die vastlopen, wachten op zekerheid. Degenen die schakelen, gaan het fabriceren.<\/div>\n\n  <p>Als je een senior leider bent en aanvoelt dat je volgende hoofdstuk geen promotie van het vorige zal zijn, is het werk hetzelfde als altijd: stop met proberen eruit te denken, en begin er doorheen te verkennen. Teken de kaart.
